The project is made of 7 different tasks. In the following, a brief description is given
Task A: The key objectives of this task are: (i) Identification of a sample area with real exposure to natural or man-made disaster, (ii) Disaster definition and (iii) Hazard identification.
Task B: The key objectives of this task are: (i) Definition of damage levels on structural and non-structural components due to seismic actions, (ii) Development of fragility functions of different plant components, (iii) Code-based assessment of the case study buildings and of the non-structural components and (iv) Assessment of the vulnerability of components subjected to the effects of industrial accidents.
Task C: The key objectives of this task are: (i) To estimate the dispersion of toxic compounds in the structures and in the environment, (ii) To assess human short-term and medium/-long-term exposure to toxic chemicals, (iii) To perform post-incident environmental and biological monitoring and (iv) To develop of an integrated computational platform development for exposure estimation.
Task D: The key objectives of this task are: (i) To estimate short-term effects of toxic chemicals released in the incident and (ii) To estimate the long-term toxicological risks to the general population.
Task E: The key objective of this task is: (i) To develop guidelines for early warning system (DAPP), risk mitigation of building and plants (EUC-DELFT), mitigation of population exposure (AUTH), environmental and biological monitoring (AUTH), and population survey (EUC).
Task F: This action refers to project management activities. The aim of the action is: (i) To coordinate and supervise project activities, (ii) To carry out the overall administrative and financial management of the project, (iii) To manage contacts with the European Commission, (iv) To manage the Consortium Agreement, (v) To monitor quality and timing of project results, (vi) To establish effective internal and external communication procedures, (vii) To ensure respect of deadlines and correspondence of the activities to the project aims and (iix) To implement the necessary corrective measures.
Task G: The objectives of this task are: (i) To ensure effective dissemination of project results within the consortium and (ii) To ensure effective dissemination of project results towards the European Commission and the external Risk Management community.
